Dream Pillows
These are large sachets made of herbs that help you sleep. Sleep inducing herbs are hops, chamomile, valerian, skullcap, and lavender. Hops has a very pungent scent, so if you make a pillow using hops, add other fragrant herbs to mask the smell. Keep the pillow flat for comfort. I find an 8" x 8" pillow is plenty big. Fun shaped pillows like animals and hearts are great for kids, and long, narrow pillows can be held over the eyes to induce sleep.

Lavender "Bottles"
22 long supple stalks of lavender in full flower, 2 ft. satin ribbon, 1/4 in. wide (if gift wrapping, use dried flower posy and colored ribbon for wrapping)

Gather the stems with the flowerheads level. Tie together with one end of the ribbon just below the flowers. Turn upside down, bend the stalks down from just below the ribbon so they cover the flowerheads. Space out the stems in pairs and weave the free end of the ribbon over and under alternate pairs of stems so it encloses the flowers. Pull the ribbon more tightly at the top and bottom, so the "bottle" is more full in the center. Tie the ribbon in a bow, finish the ends and trim the stalks. truss with dried flowers of a different sort and other colored ribbon to decorate if giving as a gift. Use in a drawer with underwear or woolens, hang on a coat hangar, or put in a dish in a bedroom or bathroom.
